Teacher's Day

Today is the school-level Teacher's Day celebration after more than 1 month, so the mood to celebrate this once-a-memorial day is gone.

As usual, there is an assembly with usual song of Kami Guru Malaysia being sung by some teachers (others like me just stood and listen)

Then there is the playing with students session (which I do not know what is the aim as there is nothing fun about it, I mean what is the fun for the students to play with some old uncles or aunties who in the first place cannot play any games at all). It would be interesting if there is an online gaming session where games like Hay Day or Farm Heroes can be played among the teachers and students.

After that, with the aching bodies, we teachers are asked to sit in the oven-hot hall listening to some old uncles and aunties belting the once-popular lulabies that will surely trigger the our memories of our mums singing us to sleep.

The reward for all this, a piece of cold spicy Malay-styled chicken wing or drumstick, some overcooked cabbage and a cup of too-sweet drink (sponsored by the PTA or some old boys association)..
This is the tradition for Jit Sin Teacher's Day.. and do you think I look forward to this every year?????

And with the pre-GST economy, we only get some heartshaped papers wishing us teachers to be candles who burnt oneself.. do you think nowaday, candles still valid.. I think LED is more popular..

Seminar KBAT Form 6

 No class today. Attended the so-call HOTS questions in STPM in IPGM Penang Campus in Recsam from 8:00 - 3:30 pm. 

Last Day of Term 1

But it is actually just started for the Lower Sixers. We had finished 1 chapter and going into the second part of the 2nd chapter.
Anyway, holiday is on tomorrow until the 16th of June.. happy holiday guys .. see u (hopefully) in June.

Real STPM result out today.  There is an improvement in the result as Jit Sin now has 21 4As Students. Alas, the Biology result does not change. 

Science Week 2014

A week when the ExaMachs show the scientific skills since JIT Sin is supposed to be top in Science and Maths
But alas, what is shown (except for 3 or 4 projects) all the other projects do not deserved to be in any science competition. As a judge, I was shocked to hear participant saying I am not a scientist when explaining his project - what then why are you here in the hall explaining nonsense to me..
So there you are, ExaMachs are good in science exam only but the rest of the scientific skills are nowhere to be seen.

Today is the announcement for the 2013 STPM result. This is the first year in term if the new format in which the students can take a repeat of the three papers for each of the subjects. 

Looks like a good result for this batch as the JPN people will be here to make the announcement.

I must say they had done a good job.

Today is Saturday so what the heck, still got to come to school. Luckily  it ends at 12:30 pm.

PMR 2013 Result

PMR result is out with the school achieving GPS of 1.17 (meaning average gred for all subjects is A-)

This is the last year of PMR and this result is the best in the part 10 years. Congratulations to all

Nobel Peace 2014 for Medicine or Physiology

It's the end of the year school holiday and all the ExaMachs had complete their exams be it the original or ulangan.
So I got nothing much to write about ExaMachs and the school (for which is why this time is called a holiday).
I just got a time to surf the net for anything new and since its been a long time I had not look at the Nobel Peace Prize for M/P, I had decided to do it yesterday through my mobile phone.
This year's award for this coveted prize is given to three biochemists

for their work in transport system via vesicles in the cell (would be interesting to those taking biology in the first semester).
