Finally I managed to upload the theme song of this blog... whew what a bad day trying. Had to do this since the JITSIN had "banned" all youtube and facebook sites from being accessible in school.
As a matter of fact, all the music, video and software download sites are banned for students as well as teachers.
Talking of moving forward in ICT, hoh!!!
But to think of it, this is a challenge to the students to go around the blockage and in no time I believe the blockage will be torn down like the Berlin Wall. Unless JitSinians already become so ExaMachine that they no longer had any "liau" anymore.

ReplyDeletehi ligzhi, any censorship of internet for information and knowledge is like the Qin emperor burning the Confucius books during the historical era..... maybe the rebirth of tyranny of Qin in the modern era or the genes are still in the population of Chinese people... Shoot them in the leg for this
ReplyDeletecoming to think of it, you do have a point. it is against we want open access for info n knowledge. To censor just like that would be wrong, in principle.
ReplyDeletePerhaps, you could tell them that for the Colloqium & academic research we need open access loh. eg: there are countless biology/scientific animations and videos on youtube that would be useful for students'.
However, I do get a feeling that this has smth to do with students accessing pages for purposes other than academic. IMHO, the solution to which lies in education and guidance, not censorship. That would be a regression isn't it?
Agreed with you, ligzhi. Education and guidance are the way, but we Malaysian are still in the Third World mentality .. we still like to be Moral Police in most aspect of life. Maybe Confucius needs to be blame too (lol) for advocating obedience to the authority. Plato too.
ReplyDeleteJS bann FB?????????
ReplyDeleteRidiculous...
In Uni, every nite until mid9 everyone is on9 FB, Twitter and so on...
Banning FB... I dunno wat will happen in Uni later...
